Overview

Located 400 metres high, on the Risco de Famara, the Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural creations as it shows a series of artistic and architectural details and his eagerness to combine art and nature. It is located near the remains of an ancient military base that dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It is camouflaged on the rock in a way in which only a genius of Manrique's magnitude could conceive.

This was originally built as a gun emplacement to protect the waterway below it. The views are amazing and the café area is like a baddie's lair in a James Bond film! It's worth the visit for the view.

El Mirador has been carved into the rock by Cesar Manrique. It offers amazing views across to the island of La Graciosa. You can look out from the cafe through huge glass windows or venture outside onto the balcony. Up the spiral stairs, past the...More

We had a trip up and paid €9.50 entry for 2 of us, the views are spectacular even on a cloudy day but I'm not sure it is worth the entrance fee.

Two words. Simply stunning. I could have spent hours up there simply looking and enjoying the view, despite it being seriously breezy. Well worth the visit and some great picture opportunities. A must see in Lanzarote. Reasonable entry fee.

Pukka mountainside viewing point with a little cafe that isn't a rip off. Views from up here are simply stunning. The island in the picture is la Graciosa and you can see caleta del sebo.
