We stopped here for a couple of hours when driving back from the north of the island en route to base in Puerto del Carmen. Quite a fascinating place. This resort on the west coast has a very different feel to all the main tourist...More

Stopped here and watched the crazy surfers out in the pouring rain. Other than them not a lot of tourists going about because of the inclement weather. Seemed much wilder and definitely less developed than the other side of the island , and strangely enough...More

This beach is good for surfers owing to the strong winds however it is very rocky so not safe for swimming, there are a few cafes and restaurants here but other than that not many facilities.

This is a great place to visit and enjoy some real Canarian cuisine. We dined at El Riscos overlooking the sea and there are other restaurants that also look great. We will definitely return to try the other restaurants.

Don't let the look of this place put you off. It is basic but the food is delicious. The service is superb. Very reasonable prices and parking nearby. It is situated near a fabulous beach and scenery is amazing.

If you want to get away from the tourist hussle and bussle this lovely wee place is well worth a visit. Most roads are sand tracks and the beach is huge (although not necessarily suitable for swimming due to strong currents). There is a massive...More

Mixed feeling about the Caleta de Famara as it is superbly located being at the base of beautiful cliffs overlooking a long, sandy beach favoured by surfers, but the town itself was a big disappointment unless you are into surfing since every other shop is...More
