as expected this is a very high catholic church - a cathedral of great atmosphere and reverance - an unequivocal staement of the power, the faith, culture and history of this island. Everything viewed is beautifully preserved, and carefully treated, although in somes cases the art work needs a little more explaination. There is a quiet reflective atmosphere - definately... More

This is the oldest building in the Camry islands, and it took like forever to build. This plays a part in the rating given. The cathedral itself is nice and all. But it is, as so often, the facts about it that makes it impressive. Free admission, and on Sundays you can witness a preaching in session. Just remember to... More

The impressive cathedral with its twin towers is in a mixture of architectural styles including neo classical and gothic. There is an admission charge to visit the cathedral and the cost of the ticket includes admission to a religious art museum. The entrance is in a side street just off the square and leads you into a charming open courtyard,... More

In the heart of the old town and worth a visit. We had to pay 3 euro each to go in, but this included the cathedral and the museum. The cathedral is an amazing space, quite plain, but with soaring columns and vaulted ceilings. An elderly gentleman was playing the organ when we visited and this added to the atmosphere.... More

The interior is very spectacular with its beautiful ceiling and as the sun was streaming in through the brightly coloured stain glass windows, it threw bands of multi-coloured lights on the high pillars...in the background was lovely soft music generated by a gentleman playing a small electric organ. The whole experience was truly special.

This is a gorgeous building in the heart of the old town and a great place to start a tour of Las Palmas. The square opposite the cathedral is also delightful, with its iconic dog statues.

Having taken over 400 years to build - and it's not fully finished yet - this is an eclectic style of several architectural styles, which to the interest factor of this fascinating building. It's got a museum of religious art attached and then there's the basilica itself, which is very grand and impressive. it's set right in the heart of... More
