A bit of a scary drive through this National Park - but if you can face it, so worth it! A landscape photographers paradise, several stopping places to pause at and9 admire the view, if you are lucky, you may see some magnificent birds of...More

If you’re a nervous driver then you’re certainly better off booking an organised coach trip - the drive through the mountains is not for the faint hearted. It’s more than worth it though as Betancuria is simply breathtaking. There’s a picturesque town square with a...More

We visited Betancuria on our trip around the island. It was a pretty village but as had been massively hyped to us it felt a bit “Disney”. I would’ve liked more historical explanation, 30 minutes there was enough.

Lots to see and do. Visit the aloe Vera stall for an hour long sales pitch; religious artefacts in the church; several really decent restaurants and a couple of ancient water pumps. Well worth a visit.

Bentancuria was historically a very important town in Fuertaventura, but time and events downgraded it to a very pleasant small town/village. There is much history, including the cannons captured during the invasion. Well worth time to browse.

On an island lacking in attractive towns and villages, it was a delight to visit this sleepy spot which was surprisingly once the capital of Fuerteventura. A dazzling white church, a few restaurants/coffee shops, a museum and a couple of handicraft shops make up the...More
