Visited the former capital with its white-washed buildings as part of a bus tour and found it to be charming and picturesque with a beautiful church. There are various bars/restaurants as well as a number of gift shops and little else but still worth a...More

Although the former capital of the island was set up in the mountains to escape the pirates who plundered the coastline, I think it may have a few pirates who have set up in business now to fleece the tourists! There is a church in...More

Having ear-marked the 2of the Miradors to stop at, we decided to stop here as we drove through. A very pretty village, though to comercialised. Silly prices, put us off spending anything! Well worth stopping for though, to stroll through & enjoy the ambience &...More

We visited Betancuria on our trip around the island. It was a pretty village but as had been massively hyped to us it felt a bit “Disney”. I would’ve liked more historical explanation, 30 minutes there was enough.

Lots to see and do. Visit the aloe Vera stall for an hour long sales pitch; religious artefacts in the church; several really decent restaurants and a couple of ancient water pumps. Well worth a visit.
