I visited the Museum on a Friday morning, the last day of my holiday. If you pass the top of the wide stone steps which go down to the harbour it is on the left hand side. There is a charge of 2.25 Euros, 1.13...More

We wandered into this museum on a day trip to cuitadella. The woman on reception was so rude. Barely raised her head as on this day it was free entry. As we went to enter she screamed at us to give her our cameras and...More

If you have been to the excellent free museum in Maō, you might find this one disappointing, however for a small museum (one long stone barrel-vaulted hall) it is well laid-out, and gives an overview of the history of Menorca, through the Talayotic, Roman, Byzantine...More

Seems as if it would be a nice little local museum, but mention that it was closed until November seems to have been a mystery to the locals, and was omitted from the website, so unable to make a judgement.

Firstly this is a 1 room museum just to set expectations. Entry was less than 3 euros. The collection is held in a fabulously cool room at the top of the fort that makes up part of the old city walls. There are 28 cases...More

This is a small museum and covers Talayotic history from about 1500 BCE to the roman era. It is a good way to learn about the early history of Minorca. It is free on Wednesdays.

I found the museum less welcoming and interesting compared to the larger Museu de Menorca in Mahon were it was allowed to take pictures. Here it is not allowed and the museum shows some local archeological finds plus prehistoric skulls. The area around the museum is scenic...More

The archeological exhibit provides information on the history of Ciutadella. Interesting also the cranea of the small Balearic fossil goat (Myotragus balearicus), discovered by British female paleontologist Dorothea Bate. The Museum could be more attractive if modern museography resources were used.
