Surprising good!

We didn't really visit the Museum of Archeology in Bilbao but we did visit the Museum of Basque Culture across the plaza from it. I think the museums are roughly linked. Knowing... read more

There are dozens of local museums that display the local material culture. This small modern and novel museum is a good opportunity to take a moment to learn and understand some basic terms and ideas about human development. Here one can not only meet the Basque Country archaeology, but learn about basic processes of the human being from prehistory to... More

This is a small quiet museum, very clean and well displayed but there are no translations. It would appeal to anyone who has an interest in archaeology. It is in the old town and I had a spare hour on a Sunday when the shops were all closed so it was pleasant.

Small museum and very nicely done. Worth a visit if you are interested in archeology. But no information in English, German, French etc. only in Spanish and Basque. So you have to be interested to get anything out of the visit witch takes approximately 30 minutes.

Small museum with some interesting artefacts. All info is in Spanish, but we were given a book in English (that we had to return) that clearly told you what you were looking at as you were going through the various rooms. Would have been rather lost without it! It only took us 30 mins to cover it all, but you... More

We didn't really visit the Museum of Archeology in Bilbao but we did visit the Museum of Basque Culture across the plaza from it. I think the museums are roughly linked. Knowing nothing about Basque culture I found the museum quite interesting and informative. Some of the dioramas were outstanding and gave an excellent representation of Basque life. We most... More

The museum is already good - for those who speak local languages, but what about foreign tourists? No English, French or German.. The reception lent us a book with English translations but it wasn't really good enough.

nothing special to see and nothing in English so really not worth a visit. it is located right by the casco Viejo metro station and opposite the equally unimpressive bilbao/vasco museum. if you have the bilbao tourist card you get in free- so may want to spend a few minutes in here..

This nice little museum is hosted in a house just at the foot of the stair going up the hill to the Basilica de la Begonia, just behind the Plaça Nueva. Very pedagogically organized it gathers the vestiges and the archeological findings , dating back from middle age , of the Basque region of Bilbao. Everyday life objects, amphoras, tools... More

It is not a big museum, but you can learn there a lot of how our people lived many many years ago. I have always found it very pedagogic...
