Picturesque enclosed square with local market and plenty of produce on sale. A couple of very pleasant cafes and restaurants full of locals.
It was cold and rainy when my husband and I went to Plaza del Fontan for the second time. Our very first visit was in June of this year. Rain or shine, it is a very charming place to be with friends, and family.
The El Fontan market and surrounding shops sell an extraordinary array of Asturias cheeses, meats, and sweets. Primo gift territory!
This plaza is really nice because you have a good combination of buildings from different eras, and also the mercado del este, even though this is one is more modern. It is a good experience in a very nice city.
The old streets and Plazas of Oviedo are lovely. Here you get surrounding steeped in history and building that are well cared for. Lots of cafe, bars and restaurants. Had a very pleasant time strolling around. The highlight, on a Saturday, was the band of...More
All of Oviedo's old city is worth visiting. This place is nice because the local market is nearby. It is definitely a nice place to wander for awhile.

Good place if you are looking for a picturesque place. It´s full of awesome terraces with beautiful colours. I suggest visiting this landmark
A lovely plaza in the heart of Oviedo's Casco Antiguo, you can wander easily to the mercado across the way with numerous stalls selling Asturian products, or to one of the traditional restaurants a stone's throw away.
Beautiful courtyard (next to the permanent indoor market, and around which the street market takes place) with many possibilities to try the local products in the cidrerias and small shops.
