nice garden

Its a fine place for a relaxing walk, The streams and ponds were a delight. It looks like parts of the garden are very new and not matured.

The gardens were quite large with many entwining trail and bridges. Some of the plants need more care but that might be because of the sheer size of the place. We found a large "insect "hidden in a ditch which was a big eye catcher. The hidden waterfall by a pond with attractive ducks was a serene scene. Also, there... More

We really enjoyed our morning walking around these gardens and seemed to pretty much have the gardens to ourselves. It’s bigger than we thought and to see everything here would take you several hours, we did about half of it but would definitely come back here another time and do the rest. It’s very informative with labels next to most... More

Despite the decent map, we still managed to miss one of the four areas. We decided we'd walked far enough, so pressed on. The full walk is 1 1/2 hours through themed areas. The gardens are well laid out with excellent labelling in both Spanish and English - I particularly liked the origin being shown, it is amazing to find... More

The botanical gardens are a fantastic attraction only about 10 minutes by car from the city centre with lots to see and right next to the Laboral Ciudad de la Culture.

Tripadvisor's guide instructed that it was only 0,9 km from our hotel. However, it was about 2-2,5 km. This was OK to walk but instructions are wrong. In Tripadvisor's Timeline adress is right. Nice and relaxing garden with not tol many visitors.

This informative and well laid out garden is a super place to spend a morning in Gijon. There is parking on site but it is also well served by local buses.

I went for a concert, they have life music often. Gorgeous gardens, with water features, very calm and relaxing experience. Great samples of Asturias flora.

Travelled to the gardens by bus from Gijon. Not as good as other gardens we have visited over the years. Slightly disappointing but the amenities were good as were the plant sales.

A nice open space in the surroundings of Gijón and a decent presentation with a good scientific background. This Botanical Garden started as a local must a few years ago. But R&D has not improved much since then and the actual management is more tempted by entertainment programs than by developing a brand for aficionados to European gardens. It is... More
