Beautiful looking, long (almost 3-kms.), beach in the heart of Gijon, Asturias, Spain. Water is a bit cool for most, approximately 17 -21 degrees Centigrade during the June - September time frame.

Walked the length of the beach on the Promenade....the beach is extensive and very very popular....it was sunny during our visit with lots of small tents being used and lifeguards visible. Beach very close to all the bars and restaurants.

The beach is massive, almost a mile from end to end, and the sand is impeccable. There's no rocks in the surf on which to step and cut your feet, and the waves are usually quite calm, although sometimes the winds will kick up and...More
