Came across this and was not quite sure what it was supposed to symbolise as the information about this structure is in Spanish. I have now found out that it is a piece of public art, inaugurated in 1992 by the President of Israel Chaim...More

I originally missed this when reviewing after our trip last summer but we did see this structure on our walk along the Guadalquivir River in Seville. It is suppose to symbolize the 3 monolithic faiths that have shared Seville. I like the idea of the...More

This monument is supposed to commemorate the expulsion of Jews from Seville. Not sure what it's supposed to represent, but I can imagine some kind of stylised menorah. I all for anything that promotes tolerance, but as the explanation is all in Spanish it's kind...More

Discovered this monument on our day trip out from Triana via the banks of river Guadalquivir. Wasn't sure what it was then but now I know that it was erected to symbolise the tolerance between the Christians, Jewish and Muslims.

Near the Triana Bridge, the Monument to Tolerance by Eduardo Chillida commemorates the 1492 expulsion of the Jews by Catholic kings. It was completed in 1992, the year of the Seville Expo.

Well, you come across this on your walk down the north bank if the river. First impressions are 'is it a toilet' but quickly you see it is not. There are many monuments to the oppressed on that side but this - not sure.

Average sort of creation to look at but presumably from the title, Monumento a la Tolerancia, there is some meaning attached to the sculpture. Plaque no doubt explaining all is in Spanish.

It's conception was as an apology for the Intolerance of the Spanish Inquisition, on the opposite side of the river in Triana. It is called tolerance. To understand the significance you need to do the free walking tour of Triana
