If you have time to spare in Seville check out this monastery. This is an interesting space where they have turned the place into a museum. Really interesting pieces of contemporary and modern pieces of art. I was traveling in August 2018, and it was...More

We went to see the Carthusian Monastery. They have a long and checquered history. It was started by the Arabs, then became a monastery. During the Napoleonic wars it was turned into barracks and afterwards sold of to an Englishman that made and sold pottery...More

Visited today and was very interested in the architectural history of the place but there was no real information. The CAAC had 3 current exhibition none of which really interested me. The small cafe was a real disappointment and I wouldn't go back. Ordered 2...More

Interesting looking complex, but no real substance inside. Photographs of pottery and odd art films. Not really one thing or another. Restaurant very poor. It's quite far to go and not reaslly worth it.

After the monastery no longer served a such, it was a factory (ceramics) and now El Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC) is housed here, since 1997. Although the buildings are typical of the era, they are not really special, nor in an excellent state...More

The monastery was used for a long time as a ceramic factory, and thus as can be expected, little of the interior decorations remain. However, the outside mudéjar style and cupola are well preserved, as are the chimney and baking ovens of the factory. Inside...More

This monastery has been turned into a modern arts museum. The buildings are decent but a bit run down. We didn't stay too long as it wasn't our preferred style of art. It was a nice walk over the bridge to get here

This old monastery has become a pottery factory before finally being the Contemporary Art Center of Sevilla. It's a unique place where modern and ancient buildings are mixed up. Nice gardens and courtyards. The exhibitions are quite nice. It's free on some days.
