The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

We stayed at a hotel in this area and found you can walk virtually anywhere you want to in Seville in 15 minutes, max 30 within Santa Cruz. Lots of restaurants, shops, hotels and convenient access to all major tourist attractions. But bring your phone...More

The labyrinthine, narrow cobblestone alleyways are fun and beautiful to explore. Tapas bars and flamenco are here. Easy to get lost in the miles of "streets" so bring your smartphone!

This was an OK walk in an old neighborhood. Only one patio was visible. The squares were not that impressive. A few cafes and souvenir shops.

This is the best area to stay to experience the city. You have everything you could want, and you do not need transportation, you can walk everywhere.

There are narrow roads with vehicles, but goods on hand carts is a common sight. Easy to miss your way, but each corner holds an architectural surprise. Full of hotels, tapas bars and tourist shops - and tourists! But if you like old buildings, decorative...More

This is charming area of winding/crooked streets designed by the builders specifically so their enemies would get lost if they ever penetrated the city walls. Nowadays it provides a wonderful opportunity to wander and lose yourself to the charm of the buildings, giant doors and...More

This is a great place with narrow roads and walkways. You just can’t believe the taxis zip through a few of the vehicle-accessible alleys when it seems as though you can touch the buildings with your arms open wide. It’s largely a pedestrian zone with...More

AS everyone else says, ask for - or look up to find the spire of - the Cathedral. Where the lanes open out onto squares there are often black-and-gold signposts, too
