Check before you go as it is closed for renovation and I don't know when it will be open again. Only our taxi driver seemed to know this so if you don't want a wasted visit check!

It is a shame that a museum is closed for that long. Just poor paper on the door. Disappointing. But if happens to you that you bump to a closed door, go visit Moorish Baths that are few numbers lower in the street or continue the same street and have a coffee on Passeo de los Tristes, near the river... More

I visited the Museum intentionally for two times and passed by it for several times during my three days stay in the Granada. The Museum is still closed. An official notice posted on a bulletin board showing the condition is needed.

I just wanted to let people know that it's still closed (I only saw a review from December). I went today, July 31st. :-( Bummed out! (I didn't want to rate it, but I didn't have any options to leave the ratings blank.)

The Archaeological Museum is located in the Albaicin district and has remains from all the ages, since the Paleolithic. It is located in a palace (Casa de Castril) built in 1539 and has Plateresque decorations on its façade. It most interesting exhibit is a beautiful bronze Roman statue of a man in a toga.
