Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Goodness gracious...where to begin? My first experience with this long, rambling avenue of shops, restaurants, gaming rooms, bakeries, met shops, bars, coffe shops, trinket shops.... starving artists who are amazing in the way they each capture a particular viewpoint and express their view on canvas.... yes my very first experience was in 1980, February to be exact. Weather was warmer than it had been a week earlier in Naples, Italy. Warm enough for a few of us to actually take in a day on the beach, which is at the lower end of this wonderful pedestrian avenue that begins up in city center. Back then I recall spending time at The Hidenburg Bar, various english pubs and so many long forgotten name eateries. One can not go to Torremolinos without taking in this place, even if you don't go all the way from top to bottom, at least try to do some of it. Of particular relvenace for me was walking along this qvenue at evening time, and hearing televisions broadcasting whatever shows may have been popular at the time. One tune, associated with a particular comedy show (though I did not know it at the time) was also polular in the USA, on the local PBS stations. That show became on of my favorite britcoms of all time, and I"ve learned to enjoyed so many others since finding this little jewel of a show - its name was "Are you being served?". Loved Mrs. Slocomb, and John Igmans character. Yes, time to go make your own memories, but trust me- this city has so much to offer, this is but one of the jewels in its crown.

Calle San Miguel is the main tourists shopping street with many fashion boutiques and bars. It begins at The Clock Tower (pub) and ends at San Miguel church, It intersects with two further paved shopping malls.

We always make the effort to visit Calle San Miguel when visiting Torremolinos or Benalmadena as there are so many shops bars and restaurants to visit within the same street, as well as a lot more close by.

Wander down these little back streets and you'll find a selection of friendly bars etc, some far cheaper than the ones on the main streets and you can sit and enjoy the local culture and maybe even learn a few new phrases.
Good for all the family and a nice safe feel to it.

Strickly speaking a shopping area, Calle San Miguel is one of the main consumer sectors of Torremolinos. Truly its a great place to relax and have a drink in one of the many bar's or just to browse the shop's. With it's central location and great atmosphere it's an excellent street to walk down and just puruse the sights.

Really enjoyable shopping area, where anyone could find everything they need. From nice souvenirs to cosy clothes or useful things. When you are ready or get tired and need a rest you can seat and have a drink, an icecream or even a nice lunch or dinner at different pubs/restaurants in the area

If we take the bus from Benalmadena, where would we get off? Does Calle San Miguel go all the way to the Paseo Maritimo?

Get off the bus at the bus station, turn right and you will soon see Calle Sam Miguel. It is quite a walk down Calle Sam Miguel to the beach (Paseo Maritimo) but there are plenty of places to stop for a drink/snack in between browsing all the shops.

Can you walk from Sol house to here? Will have a wheelchair too so wondered what distance is please

I'm not sure where Sol House is but Calle San Miguel is right in the middle of town and up above the seafront, with a set of steps up to it. There may be a lot somewhere in the vicinity. The road itself slopes downwards towards the sea but not that steeply, just so you have it in mind for the wheelchair. Up on the main road, from which Calle San Miguel runs, it is quite flat, Hope this helps.

Bonjour.
