About
Málaga is the launching partner of the new concept of temporary Centre Pompidou (Centre Pompidou provisoire). The "Centre Pompidou Málaga" is intended to be a laboratory and pilot project. Over the next few years, it will settle into an existing building, the "Cubo", and offer the public a selection of masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou's collection, a programme of exhibitions and multi-disciplinary experiences as well as exhibitions and workshops dedicated to younger audiences. The "Centre Pompidou provisoire", draws from the Centre Pompidou's museum expertise, multi-disciplinary cultural programming and paedagogical tools, especially those geared towards families and younger audiences. Their aim is to become an interface between society and creation, in order to make today's art accessible to the widest possible audience.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A real treat, we went along without really understanding what we would see, but the permanent exhibition was excellent and thought provoking. a really well curated exhibition.
Use the headphones as they really give a deeper understanding of the works.
Sadly the temporary exhibitions were closed.
A real highlight of our trip to malaga

Fantastic museeum of modern art with a great exibithion and amzingly quiet. The location may be why most tourist may miss it but it is certainly worth a visit in addition to the much busier Picasso museeum.

Excellent contemporary exhibition and the building is impressive. I say it needs more publicity but maybe better publicity is required. No tickets available on booking sites for 7 days. We turned up at the door - there were no queues and we were shown straight in.

Expensive full adult ticket. Sundays after 4pm the entry is free, I’d recommend coming then.
The exhibition we saw was nice but it’s a rather quick tour.
Don’t forget to bring coins as you’ll have to leave your bag in the lockers provided.

Entrance was fast and easy, the staff very polite and helpful 😊. Fortunately there were not many guests and I could see the collection without masses of people around me.

We are not huge art people, plus we had our twin toddlers with us. So, we weren't about to go into an art museum for a couple hours. However, I love that the building itself is beautiful and a piece of art itself. We enjoyed admiring it from the boardwalk, where seagulls and boats were much more interesting to our not-quite-two-year-old-twin-toddlers.

Close to the park and waterfront, the Centre Pompidou Malaga was an enjoyable visit. I found it to be a very modern art gallery. During our visit, one of the current exhibitions was “A Time of One’s Own” – Breaking Free from the Constraints of Everyday Life. Friendly reminder, no flash photography--I accidently forgot to disable on cell phone before entering and was kindly reminded.

After walking along the promenade we immediately saw this impressive, colourful building. We took lots of photos from the outside. Unfortunatelly it was closed durig Christmas time, so we couldn’t go in to visit the museum. We sholud come back in the future!

Do they have permanent exhibitions or only temporary ones?

The Pompidou Centre in Malaga is a large open air multi coloured ( plastic/ glass) cube. It is on the quayside ( very attractive).
It has an open inside that did not have any exhibits when we were there. I don't think the design would allow these.
It was really a statement architectural building .
Hope these comments have helped
