The El Cenachero Statue at the Plaza de la Marina was created by the artist Jaime Pimentel. It represents a fisherman who is selling his fish on two flat baskets that he balances on his shoulders.

I think the statue by itself is overrated, but the meaning of it for the city and the location is great. It's free and it's on the way from the port to the center or vicecersa.

It is always good to see statues or monuments dedicated to the working class. This one is located close to the Port and the large TI center.

I can't get excited about statues to be honest... I mean, they don't do a lot and if you've seen one person sat on a bench / horse / pedestal (delete as appropriate) then you've seen them all. In keeping with the local culture, this...More
