Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing, awesome, do not forget to see the roof. The most beautiful Barok cathedral in Spain. A must visit. If you did not see this. You haven’t been in Malaga.

Came to Malaga on March '20 but didn't go inside the cathedral because it was very busy, left it till late afternoon this time and was only in the queue for 5-10 mins.
Also thought the entrance fee of 8 euros was reasonable.
The building is stunning, wonderful architecture and well worth seeing if visiting Malaga.

It's such an 'over the top' beautiful Cathedral! The self guided audio tour allows anyone lots of time to view the many different areas in the Cathedral to experience each aspect fully. Highly recommend buying your entrance online ahead of time. Allow yourself 90 or so mins to walk through everywhere.

Stunning cathedral, right in the heart of Malaga. Unfortunately, We didn't have time to do the rooftop tour which goes every hour on the hour but the tour within was excellent. We didn't use a tour guide but rather scanned the QR code on entry and listened to the info on our phones at each of 14 points of interest within the cathedral.

In the center of the old town of Malaga is the Cathedral, an immense rectangular building that is ornate inside and out. It is a good way to spend an hour and enjoy all of the art work that went into it. You can get a ticket to visit the roof, but we don't like heights so we passed on that.

Impressive monument with a rich history. Pitty: the entrance price is quit high. Other monuments in Malaga are a lot cheaper.

Ok, we did not go inside the cathedral but the outside is amazing! Never seen such a building before. The walls are so thick. This was certainly built to last! Lots of intricate details. Even if you don’t go inside, it’s worth taking a look at it from the street.

I have been in many cathedrals but this is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. It’s also worth paying the extra to go onto the roof- the views over the city are amazing.

Visited Malaga off a cruise ship on a Sunday. We just randomly found the Malaga Cathedral as we were meandering through the city. The site was closed for tourists until 1400 but people were going in... there was a service! We respectfully asked if we could attend and we immediately granted entry. What an experience! A full Catholic mass including lots of incense, multiple officiants, and a choir. Of course, everything was in Spanish, but I understood more than I expected!
Following the service, we were allowed to walk around the church and see the assorted chapels, paintings, and sculptures.
The only "off" note for me were the electric candles (verse lighting a real candle) in memory of someone. Makes total and complete sense. The fire hazards of real candles must be significant... but it did feel out of place.
The ability to attend a service in this wonderful Cathedral made this a very rich experience. Much more touching and enriching than a tour. Try it if you can...

I bought the ticket in advance and express. It was no line when we get there early in the morning but, when we live it was very long line in the entrance to buy tickets

Is it worth paying extra to do the tour of the roof? Can you bring a small back pack?

For me, the roof tour was a highlight of the visit as it gave a completely different view of both the inside of the cathedral, from a couple of viewpoints, as well as the outside roof and tower details that you cannot see otherwise.
As the steps up to the roof could be considered to be quite narrow you cannot take large backpacks but a smaller backpack ( size of an average handbag ) is allowed. In fact I would advise that a small backpack is preferable to a shoulder or handbag as it frees up your hands during the climb up.. and down the stairs.
What time is Mass on Sundays in Málaga Cathedral in November? Thank you.

Depending on the weather but I would say 1-2 hours before and merry Christmas if it’s not too early
