Great and historic castle, best approached from the Paseo Maritimo looking out to sea at dusk. Wonderful experience walking along the promontory from the beach to the impressive castle and being able to look back at the city of CadÃz from there. We went on...More
The Castle of San Sebastián was built in the 18th century to defend the northern flank of the city from attack. It's built at the end of La Caleta beach and reachable via a roughly 1,.5 km long causeway. It's a lovely walk and the...More

This was great walk out - and much further than we imagined it would be according to my Fitbit! The fortress was in need of restoration but this seems to be in hand. The buildings were not open to the public but the views back...More
Unfortunately, although it is a nice walk along the jetty to get to the Castle, it is currently closed for renovation with no details on when it will be re-opening.
