The Cordoba Archeological Museum offers another dimension of the rich and fascinating history this beautiful region beyond its Islamic and Christian influences. Built on, and in parts literally on top of Roman ruins under a glass floor which you walk on, the museum offers a...More

Probably one of the best museums I've been to in a while, it's free to EU passport holders (not that this makes a great deal of difference). There's a lot to see here, as a fan of ancient history I was surprised and delighted that...More

Whilst in Cordoba, it makes sense to visit this museum after visiting the Mezquita and Roman Bridge. Cordoba really is a fantastic Spanish city. This air conditioned museum has fantastic artefacts and built on Roman ruins. There is an extensive collection of coins, vases and...More

Such a little gem of a museum for Roman history buffs. Beautiful Roman statues, busts, inscriptions and coins. The underground excavation of the Roman amphitheater is fabulous as you walk through and above the seating. Do not miss it.

This museum has a surprising amount of artifacts on display. They are still digging under the Square so new things to see all the time. Take the time to look for this one when you visit Cordoba.

This is a well- maintained museum, with a good collection of very old coins. But the biggest draw here is the basement, where they show a partially- excavated Roman amphitheater. Apparently there are plans to dig more in the plaza facing the museum, so this...More

This is a lovely small museum, good signage in English and and nice interactive exhibits and staff. It was not at all crowded and we spent an hour and a half strolling the galleries reading the signs and touring from the top to the bottom...More

This was just round the corner from our BnB. Very interesting to get a better idea of the history of Cordoba and the area.

We ducked into the museum to avoid the rain. What a treat! A well signed-Spanish and English museum of artifacts from the early Bronze Age onward. The exhibit of coins with the magnifying glass was amazing to see the details on the coins. Plus a...More
