Free parking and free entrance. Very tranquil and fantastic views. Was very interesting to see how the moslims lived all those years ago. Still excavating more.

What can you say? A superb, free, informative and spectacular place to visit. If you only sightsee one attraction in almeria make sure that this is the one! Make sure you wear appropriate footwear though!

Not for the faint hearted but worth the trek to the top, We found ourselves in the old part of the fortress with a large statue of Jesus overlooking the city. This ruin is the best place to take photos of the newer fortress/castle which...More

Wonderful morning spent looking over this fabulous castle. Parts remind me of the great wall of China. Part of the area is used for animal breeding. Many places used in the scenery for Game of thrones. Superb vista from the top of battlements.

Extraordinary history in this location. Easily navigated the old city and up into the ramparts of the ancient castle. I hope to bring my children here one day.

Inside the monument, which is actually composed of an ancient fortress, some palaces and gardens, there are not many stairs. The space is huge and has a lot to walk, but you will only need to climb stairs to visit some... More
