This huge church is located on top of the only hill in town and right next door is an even larger cathedral so between the two it is well worth visiting both.

We were lucky enough to arrive minutes before the Evening Vespers. The organ was absolutely magnificent!!!

We were not able to go inside the Dom when we visited, but such a magnificent building set alongside the Cathedral at the stop of the square. Beautiful buildings with fantastic architecture that really complement each other.

This well-preserved city demonstrates a pride of all the medieval jewels that remain in this city. These imposing churches are things to behold! This one really has a commanding presence at the west end of all the pedestrian streets.

up on the hill, once you climb up the staircase which has wide steps, you will see two Catholic Churches On the left is St. Marien Dom and on the right St. Severi Kirche, both Churches are plain but have character and are worth visiting,

Some amazing architecture and stained glass windows. This is the more elaborate of the two churches, separated by only 10 meters or so! Both are well worth visiting, if only to compare their differences.

This is one of the most impressive cathedrals I have ever seen. It is situated higher and the stairs you have to climb make it look even more imposant.

The whole Domberg area is fascinating to explore, both for its own features and for the views over the town, the Domplatz, and the citadel. Both churches are worth visiting, although if time is limited the Dom has much more of interest. If you're religious...More
