The park is lovely. Costs 8 Euro to enter for adults but it is very well maintained, got lovely exhibitions. Great spot to have a picnic, get some food in town and head up. Take the tram up. There is a tower you can climb for free to get great views over the city. Lots of areas to rest, hammocks,... More

Ega Park has beautiful fountains and gardens. While much of it is geared towards younger children (who love the swimming area, playground, climbing ropes, and zip lines) our teenagers enjoyed the butterfly house and gardens a great deal. Families can get a family pass for 22 Euro, making good this a reasonably priced way to spend a day.

We spent the morning meandering through these gardens, Quite extensive and varied gardens and greenhouses. The Japanese Garden was a favorite of the adults, and the children liked controlling the fountains. The hammocks were also a welcome touch

We visited the gardens in May so the tulips were ending and the roses were just starting to bloom. There was still much to see! I can only imagine what the gardens look like in full color!!! We loved the butterfly building! You could tell that the area is well-planned and well-cared for! ( Easy to get to by tram... More

This place doesn't get much of a mention over other attractions in Erfurt but if you like gardens and gardening (as I do) this place will blow your mind. Even though it was only early May the site was brimming with showpiece gardens. Included in the price is entry to the tropical glasshouses and butterfly house, a fascinating space full... More

We visited the gardens as the dahlias were beginning to bloom. Garden beds were a blaze of colour and no matter where you pointed your camera there was a photo opportunity. Well worth the visit at any time of the year as we could imagine the colour of spring there with the beds of massed peonies and the cherries throughout... More

If you have a few more days in Erfurt and a sunny day along your visit this Park is great to enjoy for a few hours. Lovely flower gardens, great playgrounds and indoor areas with several options. Good parking options and public transport are available to reach the park.

This is, without a doubt one of the best formal gardens anywhere. OK you pay to enter (8 Euros), but it is so worth the entrance fee with huge swathes of seasonal flowers and many themed gardens and hot houses, topped with a mesmeric butterfly house. We also noticed a large play area for children which is a masterstroke for... More

It is an awesome botanical park. Large variety of seasonal flowers and well maintained. Best place for a family outing in spring and summer. Kids will love the fountains, birds and open spaces. Also has a tropical section with many species of butterflies. The watch tower in the garden gives a great view of the city and the surrounding hills.
