Very beautiful place in old town. You can make nice pictures, do not forget both sides, then go into downtown to make some shopping and visit the cathedrals.

This is the classic view of Lubeck. It is an interesting building set is a pleasant park area. Curious how it could ever have been a town gate though

Great to see how structures were built to last - still standing 4 centuries on. Appreciate all the little details.

There are 8 rooms, each with a different theme. Some are more interesting than others (scale model Of the city, exhibits on shipping and architecture) but they use real artifacts in every room and have well-researched descriptions in English and German. The exhibits include features...More

This is a landmark of the city representing a highly conserved old gate of the walled city. Located in center of town by the waterfront, this structure is worth a visit to take a closer look at how it is constructed of colluded glossed bricks,...More

We docked at Travemunde on the first leg of a Baltic Cruise. Travemunde had little of interest to us so we took the train to Lubeck. Lubeck an old town but again not a lot to see.

This gate is well worth visiting and you cannot miss it going into Lubeck. It is a very interesting and beautiful bit of late Gothic fully decorated architecture. You have to see it if you go to Lubeck.

Part of the original town wall and city gate, this magnificent gate is truly something to see. As you walk from the train station, it comes up in front of you in quite an imposing way. There is a beautiful park on the west or...More
