Gothmund is a fishing village between Lübeck and Travemünde. You can go there by bus from Travemunde or Lubeck. Very beautiful just for a walk and photo. It worth a visit if you are in the area.

Gothmund was a quaint little village, one piece of advice would be to plan and run around the village before the bus goes or spend a full hour walking the nature reserve. Bus is once an hour on Sundays and be warned there are no...More

You cannot drive by these charming little thatched homes near the water, but have to park by the street just above the historic area. If you walk to the left to the dead end of the street, there's a signposted footpath and then another signpost...More

We have been to many such exotic villages the world over, closest resemblance was with Japanese gasso villages. All of them were UNESCO world heritage sites and rightly so. Gothmunder weg is equally exotic with exquisitely maintained houses, lawns, gardens, exteriors and lanes. But the...More

Cheap public bus from Lubeck stops very close. The old fisherman's village has many thatched houses and the thatch (Phragmites) grows extensively here. Don't stop with the village but continue upstream on the good tow path and return via the goose path to circle the...More

Great spot for a peaceful walk to see the prettiest little houses. There's no restaurants or activities to do here (at least not that we saw), just a beautiful little village that seems untouched by time. Actually, it's probably a little too beautiful to have...More
