This is the civic church of Wittenberg, where Martin Luther preached. The twin towers of the Church rise up above the center of the town. Inside the church, there is the famous Reformation altar (painted by Martin’s close friend, Lucas Cranach ). Many other important...More

While the Castle Church may be more historically significant, Luther preached here more frequently. The rear of the altarpiece is noteworthy since you can see where many of Luther's student carved their names into the painting.

This church has more of a connection to Luther than the Castle Church, this was Luther's actual church where he preached, taught and baptized. He was even married here. The church is behind the houses bordering the Markt. Its spires are visible above the center...More

Beautiful and historical significant, this is the church where Luther preached. We had a chance to attend worship here, and the sound of the music was so beautiful.
