We were here during the Handel festival. There were music, children's activities and some light refreshments available in the courtyard. A good information center for your Handel Pilgrimage to Halle. Nicely restored building and a good introduction to Handel's life story.

Well documented presentation on the life and career of GF Handel. For photography, the light from high windows in some rooms makes for reflections on the glass cases.

The title auto-translates poorly. This is actually the Handelhaus, the birthplace and early home of Handel, the composer. It houses a history of his life as well as many old musical instruments and curiosities. I found it quite interesting and worth the visit.

Hello - Is there information in Halle about FW Zachow, organist at Marktkirche and Handel's music teacher? My wife and I hope to visit Germany in October 2016 with a college group exploring the Reformation. I do not claim to be related to Zachow. Thank you. Sincerely, Jack (John) Zachow Seminole, Florida USA

Hmmm... looks like my original answer disappeared.... There are multiple references to the teacher within the museum. Also, it is less than a half mile from the Marktkirche, which is open for visitors at least... More
