It was interesting to see how the porcelain was still hand made there. The pieces are beautiful but boy are they pricey 😱. I guess it would depend on your interest in the production but to me it was just an ok visit.

The tour is free and well organized. After watching a short video you move through different stations that show you the progressions of a porcelain piece being made. After the tour there is a large museum with hundreds of pieces to see. There's also a large store for purchasing items.

Meissen is one of the places that will appeal more to the ladies then to the gentleman. While the tour is brief they do show you and explain to you how the porcelain is made , fired ,painted and then glazed. After your visit you can visit the outlet store as well as the factory store for as long as... More

We found the tour with a short film and watching the workers making the pieces very interesting. The museum was also beautiful. I didnt know that they produce jewelery and wall paintings. The cost was reasonable for a family. (20 euros for 4)

We visited their relatively new visitor center and took the tour on how this porcelain is created. We watched three craftsmen demonstrate their techniques to form the clay, add the initial design, and finally finish off the painting of the peace. There is a separate presentation area for each activity and while they use live craftsmen, the presentations are prerecoded.... More

The tour was wonderful with an opportunity to see the many designs and pieces created over the years. But the visit served by demonstrations of the hours, skills of the craft mans, and fine designing process that occur to make each piece. Fascinating!

This factory tour is both beautiful and fascinating, and mine took place after tea, which featured Meissen Kuchen, the traditional crossed swords decorating the cake. The factory is very well lit and beautiful, leading me to believe that it's not really their factory, but is one set up for tourists. Either way, the.tour is fascinating, the people are very nice,... This is a MUST place. There are entertaining tours of the production of porcelain with expert crafts persons at work. The museum is to die for with all the unbelievable pieces. We were fortunate to have a pre-arranged concert on the porcelain piped organ. I was not , was not going to buy in the upscale retail shop, but could... More

This is really one of the finest porcelain manufacturers in the world, and they know it. It's really too expensive for we mere mortals but the tour is great and interesting.
