The view is really nice and the building is very impressive. However we could not find any information about the battle or symbolic mening of the molument itself. Luckily inside there is a place to sit and Internet. So we read the English Wikipedia page.
Also, the hall of fame seems to be free and you can see the inside there. So only if you want to climb to the top and see the view paying the entrance is worth it.

If you're in the are and interested in history - visit this one!
It cost me 10€ entry, and then I headed inside. There's a lift, but if you want to truly see everything, you cannot avoid the stairs. Overall there are about 500 of them, but as I combined lift with stairs, I climbed about 250, I guess.
The view from the top is nice, but the one from the Panorama Tower in the city is way better.

This was a huge memorial created to honor the Russian and German war dead in their defeat of Napoleon! It's nice to see from the road, but upclose it was very impressive and much bigger than I originally thought. There was a little bar that served beer and soda there also.

We stopped off here just before continuing our trip up to Berlin. We were pleased to find a free car park and then we leisurely strolled around the artificial lake directly in front of this impressive monument - the so-called Monument to the Battle of the Nations or Volkerschlachtdenkmal. As time was not on our side we resisted the temptation to buy the entry tickets to go inside the building and climb the stairs right up to the top.
I later learned that whilst this monument already looks very grand and impressive during the day, if you come after dark when it is illuminated then it looks even more spectacular.

I was not so much intersted in the purpose of this building but I had time left. I walked back to the train station to stretch my legs as all else in leipzig is so close. but there is also trams and trains. If you have the time come.

How do we book a guided tour for Thur 18 May at say 10.am in the morn?

I didn't book a tour so I'm not sure. They have audio guides though. There is free parking within walking distance. I was there during Octoberfest so we had to walk pretty far because parking was hard to come by. But that shouldn't be an issue if you go in May.

You could easily use nowadays the City Tunnel or the Tram Nr. 15.
