Enjoyable trip!!

Quite an experience - amazing technology - still functioning so well! It is just fun to take this little train - up the mountain!!

We didn't go up the Standseilbahn since the friendly, elderly lady, speaking almost entirely in German, who was manning the station suggested, that we should do the Shwebebahn since that is more interesting.Since we had already been up the Prague funicular two days ago, we promptly saved ourselves some time and euros and headed over to the more interesting of the... Dresden has two mountain railways. Both of them take off from almost the same point (3 min. walk from each other), but each one goes up a different direction. That's why you can't use one to go up and the other to get down. You must take a round trip on EACH of them. If you've read our review of... More

There are two cable cars (funiculars) close to each other, both starting at the Körnerplatz, both not so easy to find, you can easily miss them. Very hard to park nearby if you do not have a "paper parking clock" with you so as to indicate the time you are leaving the car; max. 1 hour is allowed. We did... More

It may not be the fastest way to get to the Weiße Hirsch in Dresden but it is very enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and patient.

Took an evening ride out on the trams at the end of a very hot day, walked over the Blue Wonder Bridge and came across this. From the upper station you could see all over Dresden and I hadn't realised just how extensive the city was beyond the tourist central area.

I was disappointed that the DVB tickets do not cover this, but I guess it is more of an attraction than public transportation (I can't imagine the locals use it regularly at that price). It is a short ride on the funicular and even shorter on the monorail. Almost all of the exhibits are in German. There are not really... More

never try to drive your car to the top station. There`s basically no parking at all. But after your drive uphill you might take a walk downhill.

Fabulous views of Dresden and surrounds from top of mountain. Easy to find, particularly if you take the Dresden Hop ON Hop Off Tour.
