cultural-historical collection of this Museum extends from the Stone Age till 21 century. Among the exhibits there are gold jewellery, shields and from prehistoric epochs, Roman stone monuments, sculptures and tables from the Middle Ages, Renaissance paintings, Baroque furniture and many other interesting things!

We were very happily surprised by this Museum. It covers all the ages of German History and all the displays are very well presented. The audio-guide we was certainly of great help understanding and appreciating all. This site seems to be rather poorly visited and...More

This is a very well curated museum with interesting collections including art. I especially enjoyed the section devoted to Mr Thonet's bentwood furniture. He left his home in Trier and set up an early factory in Mainz before moving on to Munich. The Landesmuseum provides...More

great pieces of art n history but cannot enjoy much because the staff were following,or i should say ”stalking” the visitors to see what they were doing. This thing never happened to me when visiting other great European museums.

This is a small museum that covers some of the local history. You can get through the entire building in about 90 minutes. English guides are available via a small walkie for 1 euro.

I appreciated the collection in this museum, but, no doubt, would have appreciated even more had I been able to understand the signage. I rented an audio guide to help me through, but found that a very small number of pieces had explanations available in...More

This museum is a little off the tourist beaten track perhaps, so it was almost entirely empty of visitors when I toured it. (There were more security guards than visitors!) The art and Roman artifacts are extremely well presented, and the collection, while not overwhelmingly...More
