Instead of driving in to Koblenz we opted to drive up to the fortress parking and take the cable car down to town. It was a chilly day so we were not planning to visit the fort. The lady on the cash desk for the cable car was a good salesperson as we came away with two combitickets. However at... More

We were lucky to see the lights festival in the fort. I heard it's an annual event and the date we visited was perfect (13-17th April or 21-23rd April). The ticket was around @13€, the cable cart and entry ticket to the fort. Walking around the fort with those Color lights was fine but the spring was still cold. Later, we... More

We took a cable car to the fortress. Combine ticket is 13,8 eur. If you are interested in history this is the place. It is very clean and well organized. There is audio guides in English and Germane. A lot of interesting information about the fortress also about history of the city in general. Beside this you can find a... More

Interesting place lots of history ( most of info in German ) and superb views. There are couple of food stops around for a bite to eat at reasonable prices. Lovely day out when the sun shines.

Worth a visit either by cable car or climb. There are good trails into the fortress. Grounds are extensive and in the fortress often different exhibitions, lights up at night.

A great time visiting the fortress of Koblenz. You can see and hear history repeats. Arts and view over the Rhein. Unforgettable!

Fascinating history lesson from centuries ago to now. Would come back in summer when there are outdoor concerts.

The fortress itself is huge and admission is about 7 Euro plus parking charged per hour. If you are a history buff this might be a place to spend some hours, otherwise, since I am not too deep into history, it is an average place to visit. If you can walk 5 minutes, you can also park for free outside... More

A very confusing fort compared to many we've visited in North and South America. Purposefully set up to distract enemy soldiers who wouldn't know which part of the fort they had broken into leaving them vulnerable to attact.

I visited it three years ago(2014). Wasn't very excited about the sight since it's a fortress but its massive and kind of impressive because of its location ( Deutsche ecke is visible from there) pretty nice someone hasn't been to a similar sight. Back then, it was fine since it had free entrance and free parking as well.visiting Koblenz after... More
