Begun in 1320, this Carmelite Church is worth a visit. While established to support the original Carmelite monastery and their simple lifestyle, the church was popular with the aristocracy and so extravagant ornamentation and artworks were donated to the church. Artefacts from the church have been sold to museums around the world to raise money and I was particularly delighted to find the original home of the the St Anne's Altarcarving from the Renaissance which I had previously discovered in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Ancient headstones, also world famous can be found both here and in museums around the world labelled as "The Boppard Room."
