What a beautiful interior this church has, totally breathtaking. A good find as we stumbled around the Old Town. Built in the style of Lower Rhine Gothic with brick with a strange 'twisted tower'. Definitely worth a look around.

Nice Gothic architecture of course, the location in the old town is good, so it would be a stop of a walk around trip to discover Dusseldorf, it must be. I managed to catch up with the Sunday mass in early morning, it was special although I did not understand most of it since I do not speak Dutch, and... More

Beautiful church you can miss easily walking around Altstadt (old town of the city), it is really worthy. One of these places you feel Peace inside, silence and beauty all around. The architecture is amazing with its twisted tower... (the legend says it twisted when a non virgin woman tried to marry there cheating everybody as she was virgin as... More

This church dated from the 12th century, is the oldest in the city, and has sculptures of the Christ crucifiction at the outside as well as inside. Both of high artistic value and large in size. Also the fresco's and bells are impressive as well as the golden shrine of Sint Apollinarus, in front of the altar.

Small church by the Rhine. Oldest On my way! In Düsseldorf. Over 800 years old. Rich in history. Stop by if in the area.

This imposing church sits just at the north end of altstadt. It is beautiful in its own right, but look up at the steeple. It is crooked and twisted. The story goes that back in the mid 1850's a couple were married here who were not virgins. The devil tried to pull the church down to hell and in the... More

We just admire it from the outside. A beautiful church that stands beside the Rhine river. You won't miss it while you walk along the river side.
