Ticked away in this great place are some amazing pieces of art. Picasso has some paintings and drawings here that are not for the faint of heart. The paintings are classic Picasso but the drawings are risqué....

We went to this museum on recommendation from a friend. I will not doubt the quality of the works exhibited in this museum. But it's not for people who do not have a great cultural bagage like us.

Decided to explore on a whim and now recommend to anyone going to Köln. Museum with many levels showing different artists. Very interactive with active live art and modern displays taking up whole rooms. Plan to spend a few hours /half a day immersed in the exploration.

A surprisingly high quality modern/contemporary art collection housed in a modern well-lit museum. The collection is immense, well-displayed and comes with German and English information for each work of art. Lots of work from world famous artists. Elevators make it easy for mobility-impaired visitors. I came across several visitors on wheelchair during my visit. It was a very satisfying 2.5... More

Visited with adult sons and we loved it. Clearly laid out and easy to navigate. Great value for money. Fabulous Otto Freundlich exhibition and some amazing work by Picasso and others. Highly recommended.

Houses various modern arts and one needs to understand , then only be able to appreciate the works. We went in because of the works of Picasso. Left more deeply impressed by him than ever before. By the way, the building is also home to the Kolner Philharmonic. The Heinrich-Boll Platz, a public square directly in front of the museum,... More

The collection you’ll find at this museum will not disappoint: not only will you find various pieces by well-known artists – such as Dali, Picasso, Magritte, Braque and Chagall – but you’ll be able to discover some new artists to admire in various genres (and by genres I mean -isms). Of course you’ll only share in my opinion if you... More

This is really an acquired taste... meaning that like any other museum of modern art you are going to see installations where you will wonder if this is art or just some boxes that were forgotten there. The building and the surroundings are really gorgeous. The art itself I think is sometimes very pretentious. None the less If one is... More
