Great entrance at the beginning of the tower, with outstanding nature and a park for children to have fun. Besides the fascinating view over whole Bielefeld, I love the fact that it is dog friendly! Every dog owner should enjoy the walk or jog with their dog. 🙌🏻🐶

Sparrenburg castle is a must-see Bielefeld landmark -- it is a relatively small castle with just one tower but in excellent shape. Well maintained and the castle grounds as well. You can visit the castle and grounds for free, just to get on the tower costs a few Euro. If you want to walk around the castle you can do... More

Not great for small kids as there is very little to do, OK view over the city and recently refurbished. Nice place to start or end a walk or cycle along the promenade.

The castle is placed in a small park on the hill above the city. It is in a walking distance from the historical center, with a few steps going up the hill. Alternatively, there is a road for cars up to the castle. You can spend 30-50 minutes walking on the territory near the castle or go up the tower... More

We live nearby yet had never visited so we decided to strike out and explore. The ruins create a nice circular stroll with lovely views across town and the surrounding area. They are quite well preserved and each area has an informative sign in both English and German. The ruins are free to visit, you only pay a small fee... More

It is a must see in Bielefeld, nice small castle with a restaurant up there, beautiful and a good walk up hill, and if you are lucky you can get the best view of Bielefeld on a sunny day.

We spent about an hour here on a Sunday morning. The grounds were well kept, nicely looked after. Within the battlements themselves, there were a good number of explanatory signs in German and English, telling you where you were, and the history of the place. Lots of opportunities to take photos of the local area from an elevated position. You... More

Lovely walk up and around the Sparrenburg. Once you get there it is a little disappointing as apart from the views there is nothing to do. The cafe is cute and not too expensive but the restaurant very expensive. Lots of weddings take place there

This location offers a fantastic view over Bielefeld. I've ordered a burger and got a very tasty, delicious beef burger with cheese and real bread (not one of those terrible ones you get at the big fast food chains...). I enjoyed every single bite of it!
