This museum is really worth visiting, even if you are not a huge fan of modern art. The collection is very nice and there are no such "strange pieces of modern art". Remember that all museums are free on friday in Hannover!

This museum continues on from the art collection in the Landesmuseum. It starts from the early twentieth century and goes up to date with Contemporary art. This last part can be skipped (which is just near the entrance) and move straight to the paintings by the German Expressionists, Picasso and the Blue Rider groups as these are the highlights of... We really enjoyed this museum! It has a mixture of different kinds of artwork which is great to accommodate for different kinds of individuals. From Picasso to artworks using recycled products in thought it was a very interesting museum. Free on Fridays which is even better. The museum is currently being renovated and only the new wing is open. The only current exposition by Pierre Huyghe is so minimal that most rooms are empty that it imo is not worth the entrance fee. There is no work of the permanent collection on display.

Museum where you can find the Picasso, Miro, Dali and many more famous artists. Reserves plenty of time, there is a lot to see! Fridays is free entry, on other days 7euros.

If you are in Hannover on business, take a half day off to visit the Sprengel Art Museum. The permanent collection has many great works of the Classical Modern period, and the interior of the newly opened wing is certainly interesting architecturally. After 2 hours, take a break in the Italian restaurant overlooking the Maschsee. If you have time, stroll... More

Admission is free on Fridays. Has a few pieces worth seeing but nothing which can not be missed. Highly recommend a visit if one has time on a Friday.

By the time we had seen everything on the basement floor - including the Picassos - we were flagging, so we didn't see the temporary exhibition - and felt sorry afterwards that we'd missed it. There is a restaurant, but it was posher than we'd expected for a museum cafe.

Located on the lake in Hannover this wonderful modern art museum offers the visitor an great space to view art. I saw the Lautrec exhibition here which was truly memorable. Being free on Fridays also makes this a must see as the price is very agreeable.
