We went during the very busy and fun Machseefest in early August. It was a crowded and really fun festival, with LOTS of beer, music, and revelry. Really enjoyed it! Good access by public transit, too.

This place is behind the Rathaus and is well worth the visit. You totally forget you are in a bustling city.

There is always something going on in Maschsee. In all year seasons. If you are lucky in a very hard Winter, you can walk or skate over the lake! The jogging track is super cool and there are a lot of people the whole day...More

What a beautiful setting! Plenty of space to sit and enjoy coffee. Try the semi enclosed beach chairs that are popular on the Baltic coast. Launch's are available to explore the length of this man made lake or, perhaps try a kayak?

Just imagine: an artificial lake with perimeter of approx. 6,5 km. Created by bare hands - completely without any machinery. In the very middle of the city. That's definitely rare to see. So come and have a long and nice walk around Maschsee.

A real gem in Hannover a great place to walk and relax whilst in the city, a must visit. Great views and in a quiet part of the city away from the busy areas.

Six kilometers of walking and biking paths surround the Maschsee. The perfectly flat terrain makes for easy going by foot or bike and there are plenty of benches for taking a break. There are a couple of restaurants near the paths around the lake.
