Very cool monument
May 2018
It's a pitty not enough people take time to pay a visit. You can see it from the highway, it is real easy to get to and it pays hommage to a great generation of men and women.

Nice Memorial to the Berlin Airlift
Mar 2018 • Solo
A nice (small) memorial to the Berlin airlift

Note that the location shown on the map (north of the airport) is incorrect. The actual location is on the south east side of the airport.

Very nice memorial
Aug 2017 • Solo
Very nice memorial with planes, not far from the observation deck. Nice place to visit, when you stop to see landing or departing airplanes from Frankfurt airport.

Interesting
Oct 2016 • Business
This is not a mind blowing thing to see. But the history of the airlift is interesting and it's a well done monument. Worth a look. It only takes about 5 minutes.

Only Highlight Is The Historic Planes
Dec 2015 • Couples
I wish that the historic planes could be viewed by the normal traveller. Going past a DC3 and an Elizabethan added to my frustration especially when our guide told us that there were other equally historic aircraft that could be viewed. The only way to see them is to arrive in ones own car.

Nothing really mind blowing... But I just love those old planes
You get to see two DC3 used for the "air bridge" to Berlin after the 2nd world war. I wish you would be allowed to get in!
If you walk a little further you find yourself in one of the best positions to watch the planes land in the Frankfurt airport.

Worth visiting if you're interested in aviation
Dec 2013 • Solo
The Berlin airlift monument is less than 10 min walk from the Intercity hotel. There are two planes exhibited (you can just look at them, but not enter them), together with some information. I recommend it for those who are interested in aviation history. It's also a nice photo opportunity. The monument is open at daytime, there's no entrance fee (no staff, either).
