Lavender sugar, is it possible? Yep! At Bitter & Zart it is!!!! The mix of different sugars with the hot chocolate are amazing. You could add pepper, cinnamon or cardamom as well. Really amazing. Just don't go at the end of the day cos you could risk miss the "tarten" or the house cake, they are over before the end... More

A well furnished cafe with friendly staff (which seems to be a rarity in Frankfurt!). Drinks and sweets were very good all around.

We had a long layover in Frankfurt, so we went into town and walked around. Based on recommendations here, we stopped in at Bitter & Zart since it is near the historic district. Service here is very friendly. The lady who helped us spoke English well and pointed out different offerings. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, so it... More

After I read about this Café at Trip Advisor, I decided to try it myself...the ladies staff at the Café were very polite and helpful....I enjoyed the finest almond apple pie ever...although the portion was too big for me...and I loved the fresh mint tea, too.The atmosphere was like at old times and very relaxing...thank you Trip Advisor...

I went once to the old address and was satisfied. I saw the other time that they had opened a new a bigger place. i went there with my wife and a very good friend and the service was very poor. When our friend finally caught the attention of the waitress the waitress reacted in a very unpolite way and... More

You have the beautiful smell of chocolate in the shop on the left and an coffee house in the twenties/thirties style on the right. The best coffee and hot chocolate in Frankfurt and also a nice selection of pastry. the staff is very friendly.

We went to this cafe for a chocolate rush, but sitting in the quirky and beautifully decorated cafe is an experience in itself.
