A very interesting tunnel with plenty of history behind it. It can get busy if you want to take the lifts at either end, but worth it. The views from the other side of the harbour were great and a nice spot to chill for a bit.

We have walked the Elbe tunnel on previous occasions and is well worth the visit and the time spent walking the tunnel. Unfortunately the tunnel was closed for renovation on this visit.

Very beautiful industrial monument. Must see for history and building afficionados! Nice way to visit the other side of Hamburg.

Going through the Elbtunnel is one the things you must do if you visit Hamburg, otherwise your trip doesnt count:) the view at the end is very nice. Dont forget to take some beers to enjoy the view at the end.

Definitely worth the walk through the tunnel to see the city from the other side of the Elbe! They are currently renovating the tunnel, but the construction work really doesn't interfere with the experience.

The old Elbe tunnel is a "must-see" if you are in Hamburg. Mainly now used by pedestrians, there are lifts as well as stairs to get you down there. Not a lot to see on the other side, but the tunnel itself is an engineering marvel of its time.

We went from the St Pauli side, only a few minutes wait for the small queue to clear thanks to the large elevators (there's stairs if you want). Goes down around 5 stories to the tunnel which takes 5-10 mins to walk. When on the other side you can circle round to an area which has a view of Hamburg... More
