We arrived a little before 6am and the market was hopping. I got one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a while at one of the coffee trucks (though quite expensive), and the fried fish sandwiches were very tasty. If I lived in Hamburg, I would have loved to get one of the fruit/vegetable baskets sold, which... More

We headed to the Fish Market around 930am on Sunday. There were 100s of market stalls selling pretty much what you'd expect....fish, other foods, plants, fruit, vegetables etc.....the fun part is when you enter the original hall which was packed with people eating breakfast (from stalls downstairs) or a more expensive brunch on the first floor. The place was rocking... More

My travel guidebook says the Fish Market is a "must" for all visitors to Hamburg. I therefore went there last Sunday. There wasn't much to see. But it's busy and I got a feel of some local culture. Since the Fish Market usually ends around 9:30 and there're many food stalls selling local food, I skipped breakfast and had some... More

Lots of fun and lots of options for food from the stalls. There was live music in the dance hall which was amazing! Early start but well worth it.

Oh, the fish market! It's an institution and not to be missed! After a night out, this is the best spot to go. They open around 5am on Sunday morning, so you can go straight from a bar or club to the market and enjoy some fresh air and amazing food. Though it's called the fish market, and they do... More

We are 3 lads flew out to Hamburg for the FC St Pauli v Dresden match I did all the organising cos as usual they can't be bothered! But I love it that way lol So having done my homework on the fish market I was going to surprise them with it by shouting "JOKER" at any time (they agreed... More

We went there early on Sunday morning and loved it. Don't expect to see a food auction. What you can do is eat breakfast and even a brunch with locals while listening a rock concert and buy some fresh fruits, vegetables and fish.

This was a lot of fun. Only open early Sunday mornings. The band was playing some people were dancing, it was just a happy atmosphere. Of course have a fish sandwich for breakfast.

The fish market is famous with locals and tourist. On a Sunday it's the best tourist attraction at least for us. we got there around 7am, it was very cold but, seeing the market so crowd and people so awake makes your heart warms up. A lot of fruits, food, clothing ect you can find there. Definitely the biggest atracción... More
