On 350 m² we show more than 900 exhibits originated from the last 5 centuries. They give you details about the different possibilities of application and processing of raw spices. Moreover, there are approx. 50 kinds of raw spices you can smell, touch or even taste, if you like. The spices are partly exposed in original packing (sacks or chests) as they come from the different countries of origin, or on plates.

I am not a super cook but I have most of these spices and know about most them. So it was nothing new. Some things were interesting but with very few signs in English, all that German baffled me. Don't peg me as one of...More

We were served a lovely snack while the owner explained to us lot of things about spices, where they come from and lots of their various healing effects. The whole set up is made with lots of love and enthusiasm. I really enjoyed my visit.

The place is good but small, but it's ok because it's cheap. I am a good cook, and still I discovered 3 new spices, I did not knew it was possible at my age... I liked it, but if you don't speak german it can...More

I don't understand why there are low ratings for this site. The best museums are the ones that are real and old. The ones that do not have flashy displays but are raw and in your face. This is one of those museums. Bags of...More

I visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. There were quite a few people here. It's only 5 Euros and you even get a pack of pepper as a gift which is a nice idea. You can smell and feel all the different kinds...More

Small musuem bit dated but you can smell the spices. Not much info on English. Nice to see old grinding machines and be in old warehouse. Shop on same floor has great selection of spices and teas too. Not sure if they are connected.

Awful museum. It's dusty, the staff is unfriendly to the max, the exhibits are old and cheap. Total waste of money. BUT there is an amazing spice shop next door, that has nothing to do with the museum and it is exactly the journey through...More

Small and interesting museum for those spices and exotic smells. A bit amateurish but a very good start since it is the first of its kind.

Oh, this place is so great! It's a spice museum! You can find plenty of information about spices, their origins, their usage and how there were and are imported. The space is actually in the Speicherstadt, the largest warehouse district in the world, located right...More

Really not worth €5 entry. This can not be classified as a museum - it is more like an old store cupboard with really old displays. The spice shop opposite is far better, the employee much more helpful and the spices are fresh! Give the...More
