Nice walk

Beautiful gardens with a large fountain. Very nice to enjoy and take a walk along. We had some sunshine, so things could not be netter.

The gardens are grand even with most statues covered for the winter. I am sure in the season one could walk for hours exploring the grounds. Highly recommend to see.

Outstanding

These gardens are very extensive. We found that on the outer edges locals were bike riding.
Closer to the palaces visitors were strolling and enjoying the well kept gardens.
Delightful.

Lovely place to wander between the various buildings- a “visit all areas” ticket is well worth the price, as you can visit anywhere that takes your fancy as you wander about.

Place for the Potsdam Treaty that began the Cold War. Old palace and splendid gardens. Prepare to walk. Some ornate marquetry and other elaborate furnishings of the royals.

Lovely gardens, and lovely houses that stun.
Jul 2019
With some time to spare in Potsdam, we took up the offer of touring around the formerly royal gardens, this time by a rather old fashioned double decker bus. We had walked around San Souci a few years before, and nearly suffered heat stroke as we did it, so this time it was going to be the nice and easy approach in a kind of hop on and off type of tour.
About an hour out of Berlin, the bus was around 15 Euro each, and took around two and a half hours to get all the way round, with comfort and sight stops along the way.
Came with a dual English/German speaking our guide, who explained the important and historical sights to us as we trundled down narrow roadways, hopping off ate the big palace, the huge windmill (every summer palace should have one!) and the baths where the old Kaiser had his morning glass of fresh milk every morning, away from prying eyes. The cow was in a shed down the pathway, not sure if he milked it himself? Now it is a posh restaurant and a mini brewery, and no Kaiser or cow anymore.
But the houses will amaze you, they look and are fabulously expensive to buy and to maintain apparently. The gardens are a natural tranquil place to spend time, but toilets are limited so keep watch.

The old windmill close by and then step into the well kept garden areas. Lots of green and very relaxing.

Beautiful Gardens!
Jul 2019
The gardens and architecture of the palaces is truly beautiful. We didn't pay the fee to enter into any of the buildings, but the grounds are lovely. I would recommend a guided tour to learn more about the history. Fair warning: It is a TON of walking, not for the faint of heart. It's a full day to walk the grounds from one end to the other.

Gorgeous Gardens
Jul 2019 • Family
We came in a very hot summers day wanted a trip out of Berlin for some fresh air and loved walking around the gardens. There is lots of variety, romantic areas, neoclassical areas, open areas and more mysterious woods. There is even a fantastic Chinese pavilion open to the public. The gardens are lovely for all ages and can be highly recommended.
