Really enjoyed the museum, it's very interactive but still doesn't stop being informative and interesting with what's exhibited!
Specially the laser course is very fun, and you can send the videos to yourself so you can laugh later.

Our 12-year-old suggested a visit to the German Spy Museum, and I was quite sceptic beacause of other reviews focusing so heavily on younger children's experiences, the laser maze etc. I couldn't imagine we were to visit one of the most intriguing museum ever. We (2 adults, 17-year-old and 12-year-old) were completely captured and could have spent much more time in the museum (allow for no less than 1.5 hours) We pre-booked a 10.15 entry and found ourselves among groups of teenaged schoolchildren who also seemed to enjoy. Only drawback is lack of/difficulty to find chairs/sitting spaces in the museum. We had some quite ordinary "leg injury problems" and would have needed places to quickly rest to fully be able to take in all the museum has to offer.

This museum tries to do a lot at once - the history of spies from the antiquity to the modern age, with detailed stops at WW2/the Cold War and media perceptions of spies in the modern age. There‘s a good mixture of text, media, and hands-on and interactive games that are quite suitable for kids.
The amount of time spent on James Bond at the end was rather inexplicable. Also inexplicable was an entire section about conspiracy theories. I wish they had spent that time/space going into more detail about the modern-day surveillance discussions that receive a brief mention at the end.
My visit was let down by it being *way* too busy. I arrived first thing in the morning, but I had to skip some interactive parts because the queue for them was just too long or there were too many people crowded around.

A great imaginatively laid out contemporary museum about spies in general. Lots of individual stories and interactive screens. Highly recommended. Booked timed tickets which worked briliantly and avoided the queue.

Considering Berlin was the home of the Stasi, I think you could have caught the viciousness of what they did far better than the usual James Bond style Museum. I don't mean the torture necessarily, but the psychological methods that broke people and kept a country of millions in servitude. The key to this was the total disregard of human life for some pointless 'greater' good, a lesson that needs repeating as we see governments make such decisions daily.

We chose this attraction as something that the children would be interested in. We did find it interesting but there is so much reading that the children found it difficult to maintain interest. There are many interesting videos telling stories about equipment/poisons/spy techniques but as they are in German with English subtitles the children found it hard to read all the subtitles. They loved the interactive displays but they often had to wait to use them. It would be good if there were more interactive displays and perhaps more than one laser obstacle course which everyone loved.
We all found it interesting and very well organised. With more interactive displays it could be brilliant.

Lots of interactive displays and information on spy gadgets from the Cold War and beyond.
Also includes a laser room and an entire James Bond section. I went solo and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would also be fun with family and friends.

I LOVED this museum. Fun for 40 yr olds (my parents), 20 yr olds (me) and 10 yr olds (my younger sibling). We all thought this museum was amazing and would go again. So engaging, I loved all the interactive stuff and was a highlight to my trip in Berlin.

Yes, you can buy tickets on the day at the counter.
You can also book online but it looks like you have to select a day and print the ticket at home.

If you speak and understand English, it is easy to read all the texts and to understand all films. There are no texts in español, but you can get a headset which guides you through the exhibition in your language. Have a great stay at Berlin!
