Nov 30th we booked onto the tour and with an easy meet location we were met by Pip an English tour guide living in Berlin with a masters in History what more could you want from a tour. The 4 hours went quickly filled with lots of information and laughs from a tour guide which knew her subject and how... More

We completed this tour as part of a 24 day Contiki. Happy to say that the consensus from my group was that Merren was the best guide that we had the entire time we were in Europe. She was funny, engaging, easy to hear and understand and above all else very informative. Would definitely recommend.

Had an amazing walking tour with Charlotte. I would highly recommend taking this tour. I left with a much deeper understanding of Berlin, Germany and its history. Charlotte was enthusiastic and knowledgable- she made the tour interactive and appropriate to her audience.

We did this tour on our first full day in Berlin and I have to say it was one of the best things we did the entire time we were there. Our tour guide Merren was fantastic, really enthusiastic, friendly and of course very knowledgable. Even gave us some tips on restaurants and bars after the tour.

We had a wonderful, informed and charming young lady to show us all the sights. She was a mine of information and made the whole experience very pleasant.

We pre booked this tour as we thought it would be a good start to our long weekend. All four of our party really enjoyed it, we covered all of the main historical sights and learnt some history too. We had a great guide, Matt was very engaging and made everything really interesting.

Incredible tour with Pip. Can't say enough. Her educational background added great depth as she ably traversed through centuries of histories. Wear comfortable shoes and if it's winter, as it was for us, dress appropriately. The weather and atmosphere simply added to the experience. Can't say enough!

Our guide was Matt. He is from East Berlin and told us about his parents experience of living with the wall and life after the wall. He brought all the sights to life. The walk takes four hours but takes in all the major sights in Berlin including what is left of the Berlin Wall and where the Nazis burnt... More

We decided to do the 4 hour walking tour and we were not disappointed. Kevin, our guide, was just fantastic. Very knowledgeable and a wonderful manner in which he share the German history. We can recommend this walking tour to everyone.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
