We visited with friends before Christmas as the many Christmas markets were all up and running. In order to make some real sense of the city and gain access to places and installations we would never find on our own, we booked a walking tour and are so glad we did. The tour guide Jamie gave us a 4 hour... More

I just want to say how fantastic this tour was, with our amazing tour guide Mike. Not knowing anything about Berlin before the start of the tour, I think I can say I certainly do now. Explaining everything down to a tee with his expertise, even drawing out a map of the Berlin Wall in chalk on he ground to... More

Fantastic "famous walking tour" led by the funny and very knowledgeable Mike. A Kiwi, married to an "East German descendant" - he knows his stuff - first hand! It was heavily snowing and extremely chilly on the day but this did not dampen Mikes spirits or enthusiasm. He was engaging, energetic and answered all questions and more and took us... More

Our tour guide was Michael from England he was great! It was freezing cold and snowing the entire time we had the tour. Michael gave us lots of inside warms ups on the tour which helped unfreeze our limbs from time to time. We saw everything we wanted to see in Berlin plus not only just looking at it we... More

Whilst on my recent visit to berlin I choose to have a guided tour. My guide was a half Swedish half Japanese lady called Maria, and put simply she was excellent. I can't find words to praise her high enough. She was very well educated informed and nothing was to much trouble. Despite the sad subjects we were viewing, Maria... More

Barnaby led the "Famous Insider Walk" tour. He was full of interesting historical information about the areas we walked through and his delivery included a lot of (sometimes corny) humor. I highly recommend this tour.

Booked this trip for €17 each - which to benefit from Cesar's knowledge was a bargain. He certainly knows his stuff & was personable & considerate towards my pregnant other half throughout. The place itself is obviously steeped in history, it's a really interesting & sometimes eerie place but a definite must see. The tour was well organised & Cesar... More

We (2 adults, 2 teens) really enjoyed the 4 hour Famous Walk with guide Barnaby. He quickly made us feel at ease was knowledgable and thoughtful - bringing socks and scarves for us cold tourists who hadn't prepared for the cold winter day. It was great to explore Berlin with a guide genuinely passionate about his subject and we appreciated... More

Michael was a very informed, interesting and entertaining guide on the Cold War tour; a tour done in minus temperatures with snow falling gently on us as he shared his wealth of knowledge. This is my third tour in 3 years with this company and they never disappoint

I am writing this review for a Tour I took 4 years ago. Time flies! At the time I did not have the convenience of an app on my cell and while I had all intention to write a review, well it just did not happen. My bad! Today while I was cleaning up my desk I found that Insider... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
