Prenlauer district - One of the great places to visit and I imagine to live. People working, drinking coffee, wine, walking barefoot, beautiful but unpretentious. Park is one of the centers.

Been there at around 13:00, not a large market but still some good things to try and eat. Great hotdogs, Dal and homemade pasta. Recommend!

Every Saturday from around 10 there is a Farmers Market on the Kollwitz Platz. Local food and a lot of other interesting stuff is sold. The athmosphere is fantastic. The square itself is pretty nice and houses quite a few cafes and restaurants,

This was the nicest and most cosmopolitan are we visited in Berlin. Lots of good bars and restaurants within a classy neighbourhood.

We passed the pleasant Kollwitzplatz several times during our stay. We went to the thursday market (mid-september) and even if it was rather small it was very good (especially the vegetables).

No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change
than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists
that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in
the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip
crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were
once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall,
there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have
been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays,
