About
A harbored barge functions as a floating swimming pool right in the tradition of old riverside openair baths. Here you have an unique panoramic view of the river Spree, the Oberbaumbrücke and Berlin’s iconic TV tower. Besides bathing, the beach area around the Badeschiff has become an urban recreational area. On top of that beach parties and music events take place on a regular basis. The Badeschiff has become a focal point of urban culture and entertainment for many Berliners at any time of the day.

Unusual place! Reservations strongly recommended.
A swimming pool on the Spree, sand, deckchairs, a bar. Welcoming people. Time range from 2 hours to 8€ per person. Lockers available with a caneda (11€ including 10 deposit)
The water was 21.5 degrees, it's not hot but the view and the experience are worth it. When I was there there were few people in the pool so it was possible to swim. A must do

Came here last week whilst interrailing on our honeymoon. I was getting a bit worried when we were walking through all of the derelict neighbourhoods to get there, but there was such a great atmosphere once we were in, and I’m so glad that we went! Plenty of places to sit and relax, some have sand, some have decking. The pool was exceptionally clean, and the lifeguards looked very attentive. It would be tricky to get in and out of the pool via the ladder if you were unsteady in any way, so bear that in mind. The drinks there aren’t amazing, hence the 4 stars. We got cocktails but they tasted quite diluted, so I’d stick to soft drinks. Other thing to note is that there aren’t any showers so you’ll need to plan to do that elsewhere afterwards!
Would 100% recommend this place though.

The Badeschiff comprises three barges on the Spree river, in the Teptow district of Berlin. In the summer they are open - two barges are sun decks and one a swimming pool. In the winter they are enclosed in like a winter tennis court. The innermost barge is a bar and lounge area, the middle barge has two saunas (one at 95 degrees C with a window overlooking the river, the other a 65 degrees C one), a massage area and more lounges. The third is the swimming pool. The pool is kept rather cool, 24 degrees C, but it feels great after the sauna. At each end of the pool there is a barrier under which you can swim, and the last two meters of the pool are in the open air. Every hour the sauna attendant comes into the sauna and puts perfumed water on the hot rocks and then stirs the steam around with a towel - this is the 'aufguss' ceremony. The steam gets amazingly hot. Like all German saunas, the saunas are coed and obligately nude. Most people also swim nude in the pool, except for peripubescent children. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it is definitely a family place - German families are more sensible than American ones. A peculiarity is that the changing room (note, coed) is on the land, and you have a short but exciting walk in the winter to get to the barge. You can rent sauna towels (you must sit on your own towel in the sauna), a bathrobe, and slippers at the cashier. The Badeschiff is a short walk from the Teptower Park S Bahn, and a somewhat longer walk from the Schlesiches Tor U Bahn. Price is 12 Euros for 3 hours, and towel-bathrobe-slippers rental 7 Euros.

Visited the place on a hot summer day on 01/08/20 with my two teenagers. The urban look of the place was cool. However, there was a queue to get in the pool, which was a shame. The place is smaller than it looks in the pictures. In fact, there is not much sand and the chairs on the bridge are only for those with season tickets. The worst experience, however, was the woman standing at the bar. She was really rude, barely bothered to sell to me, pretended she did not understand my English and when I returned the towels she complained that there was sand in them. Yes, there is beach sand where we sit, so what had she expected?
Due to the poor service, I can unfortunately only give one star.

Me and my friend stood in a queue under the blazing august sun for more than half an hour. Then at the entrance, we were asked by a rude woman if we spoke German. When we replied that we didn't, we were told to leave. When we protested, we were shouted at to leave in loud English. Is this some sort of racist establishment against foreigners? ?!!

It is located in an old and degraded side of Berlin. We went there in the afternoon, the price is 16 euros including flipflops, bathrobe and 2 towels (it should be 12 euros if you don't need them). The dressing room is not the best...In the first tunnel there's a bar with drinks and snacks and many deckchairs. In the second there are 2 saunas (90° the big one and the 70° the little one) and some ergonomic beds, while in the 3rd tunnel there's a big pool with very cool water. I was expecting something more cool while it looked like a cheap place. Anyway the price is good so It was worth a visit.

We where here in the summertime so this visit was perfect for cooling down in the big city. But be early, gets growded. The charge a small entrance fee. You can buy drinks and food here. They have a barbegue in the summer. Nice view and cool surroundings. We where here with our son thats 9, it´s not really for younger children I would say.

Completely unexpected but brilliant. Be careful about the opening times - we went in the evening and the pool was shut even though it was supposed to be open. Admittedly it was deserted and almost raining, but still! Had a drink and listened to some jazz, went back the next morning and had a lovely swim/coffee. The walk to it is also an experience. You need to navigate through some abandoned dockland. It gets dodgier and dodgier, and just when you think you're five paces from a guaranteed murder you go through a fence and voila; opens out into a huge, beautiful, chilled bar area with very pretty pool. It's like a mini oasis.

A wonderful place. 4 euro entrance, a rough but relaxed vibe. Note that its a lot cheaper in the summer time. Ages 20-35 mostly, mixed crowd, one of few places to go for a swim in Berlin. Get there early on hot weekends, or it might be full!

My friends and are came from UK to Berlin for a bachelor party. We wanted to rest by the pool before going out at night in fascinating Berlin. This place ruined our plans when we got rudely blocked from entering this place for no reasonable reason. Apparently, 6 men is too many men with no women. We should have in our group at least 1 women for every 2 men. I want to hightlight that nobody was drunk, innappropriately dressed, or being loud. We were 6 normal guys chatting and trying to enjoy a bit of Sun as we don't see much of it in UK. This behaviour is disgraceful and unacceptable, and I am very disappointed at the treatment we received. I don't recommend the place at all.

Is this open throughout October - is it heated?
Thanks
Written 22 July 2019
Yes. The pool is heated. Not sure about it's opening times. I guess it's weather dependant. May be scroll through the reviews to see if there are any from there or you could check out the website. I'm sure there'll be an email address. It's part of Arena Berlin.

Non ho capito se è una piscina di acqua termale o se è a temperatura ambiente. Ci vorrei andare ma non c'è più così tanto caldo da aver voglia di fare un bagno in acqua fredda

Hi, looking to come here on our trip mid August. Its it possible to book as it looks like a very popular venue? If not what are the waiting times like? How long do you get to stay - is there a time limit?
Written 30 July 2018
There was non time limit and we got there early pm and didn’t have to queue , we spent a couple of hours and by the time we left there was a queue if 10 and the place was packed. You can’t book as far as I’m aware, first comes first served. We had awesome weather which at the weekend brings everyone out. Enjoy it, we did 👍🏼

Is it necessary to wear speedos or tight shorts or are you allowed to wear board shorts?
Written 22 July 2018
Most things were worn when I was there, not sure what they’d say about just the birthday suit though!

There are parasols and spaces around the bar that are in the shade.

Würde mich bei der Hitze gern vor der Arbeit in die Fluten stürzen und dachte da ans Badeschiff. Bekommt man bei euch eigentlich auch was ein Frühstück?
