The Most Unsatisfied Town
Apr 2016 • Solo
I recently saw the production, The Most Unsatisfied Town, at the English Theatre Berlin. The play, written by Amy Evans and directed by Daniel Brunet.

The Most Unsatisfied Town dealt with a controversial death in custody in a provincial German town in which racism divided views about providing safe haven for asylum seekers. The play was staged as an ensemble piece, in which the cast were on stage throughout the production. Cast members manipulated the sets and stage props or otherwise sat to the side while other spoke.

I thought this was a confronting, engaging and poignant piece of theatre, especially relevant in the current context in Germany, and my home, Australia.

The English Theatre is located in a mews complex in Kreuzberg. On the evening that I visited, the staff who deal with the ticketing or managed the bar, were really lovely. They all had that endearing Berlin arty vibe about them.

I'm sure The English Theatre stages all sorts of edgy productions. I had a thought-provoking and rewarding night out.

This is a recommended attraction in fabulous Berlin.

English Theatre in the heart of Kreutzberg
Nov 2012 • Family
The theatre is located in small "mews" type property in the very scenic part of borough of Kreutzberg. The performances are irregularly staged and vary from avant-garde modern plays for varying tastes to some classics and occasional book readings.
