Step into the fastest elevator in Europe to begin your journey through the eventful history of one of the world's most significant and popular squares. In just 20 seconds you will be whisked up to the 24th floor, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Berlin. No other place offers such spectacular views of the city’s most famous landmarks and historic sites! The Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column and Bellevue Palace are all just a stone’s throw away. The open-air exhibition “Views of Berlin” will show you how this historic site has been completely transformed again and again: from a quiet green to the pulsing heart of a major city, from the height of luxury to a field of rubble, from a no man’s land to the new centre of Berlin. An experience for all the senses – and the same goes for our PANORAMACAFÉ on the 24th floor and spectacular roof terrace on the 25th floor!

Even though we visited on a cloudy, misty day & couldn’t see overly far, we had nice birds-eye views over the local area, including Potsdamer Platz, the Christmas markets, the nearby parks & the Holocaust Memorial.

I've seen better... the view is indeed nice, but it was very crowded and could not really enjoy. I don't know what, but I expected a lot more from this.

This place is nowhere near as well known as the TV tower but the views were still amazing. It was really quiet when we went up there - whereas the TV Tower was super busy. Give the cafe a miss though as the prices are sky high!

Our Berliner friends suggested that we start our visit of Berlin with a trip up the fastest elevator in Europe to the top of the Arkaden Building on the Potsdamer Platz. This is a very convenient location as trains arrive right at this square. The view from the top gives you a good overview over the city and makes it... More

Really fast elevator which was cool. Staff was helpful because I spoke German, the ladies in front of me did not and the ticket salesman didn't speak English so they had a difficult time getting their discounted tickets. View was nice but some areas we hoped to see were blocked by other buildings. On our way down we were put... More

If you like to see Berlin from top, go up the tower by taking the fastest elevator of Europe. Despite the high ticket price (6.5 EUR), the rooftop is unlikely to disappoint, typically uncrowded, displays long history of Postdamerplatz and its impressive reconstruction after the Berlin wall came down. Don't miss out the Panaroma Café which offers delicious cakes and... More

If you want to see Berlin from high, you should visit Panoramapunkt. It's also priced reasonable and there weren't too much crowd. Altought I didn't like staff at the café: they were a bit rude. Maybe too busy but it would be nice if someone would have taken our order faster and looked at the eye when taling to us.... More

If you have a head for heights then go to the Paniramapunkt, you will not be disappointed. A tall triangular building in Potsdamer Platz affording great views of the city, and you get to the top in the fastest lift in Europe. Don't forget you camera or binoculars. Definitely worth a visit

Fastest elevator - we were up 90 floors in a few seconds. No sooner had we felt the lift move, we were already slowing down at the top

This was a convenient stop on our hop-on hop-off bus route. The lift is exceptionally fast and the café at the top offers the opportunity for a relaxing coffee whilst enjoying the panoramic views.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
